About the Role:

This role sits within the newly formed Core Risk Management (Core RM) group, part of the Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) division at BlackRock. The Core RM group is dedicated to enhancing risk management practices across BlackRock, driving scale and resilience in the firm’s risk management platform.

As an Investment Performance Analysis Analyst within the Core Investment Risk Oversight team, you’ll collaborate with Investment Risk Managers and other global teams to oversee BlackRock’s investment portfolios. Your work will ensure compliance with investment risk management policies, support governance processes, and deliver insightful reporting and analysis to committees and regulators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with risk managers and technology teams to support processes ensuring investment portfolio risks and performance align with client and regulatory expectations.
  • Ensure reporting and governance requirements comply with regulations and RQA’s internal policies and procedures.
  • Produce reports on risk and performance exceptions for internal governance committees and regulatory submissions, ensuring data accuracy and relevant commentary.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for queries regarding risk and performance reporting.
  • Provide support in producing risk oversight reports for global RQA teams.
  • Understand data flows between systems and teams, ensuring data quality and process efficiency.
  • Maintain accountability for data accuracy, exception handling, and reporting quality control.
  • Run pre-written algorithms successfully and troubleshoot or modify them as needed.
  • Support and drive efficiency initiatives, including automation and standardization projects.
  • Create visual reports in Power BI and manage change requests related to reporting tools.

Requirements:

  • 1–4 years of experience in risk management, regulatory reporting, or investment performance attribution.
  • Background or interest in finance, investments, or quantitative analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio is a plus.
  • MBA or B.Tech preferred; additional certifications like FRM or CFA Level 1/2 are advantageous.
  • High emotional ownership with motivation, energy, and a proactive approach to business challenges.
  • Interest in solving risk management challenges through technology-driven solutions.
  • Ability to translate diverse stakeholder requirements into actionable priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and propose innovative solutions.
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple high-priority tasks, and interacting with senior management.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills.
